JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team and support our financial operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our financial department. You will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including banking and account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, order entry, invoicing along with some customer service and assisting our team with various tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with processing financial/clerical office functions such as reconciliation, A/P, A/R, etc.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are correctly classified by specific accounting codes.
  • Check figures, postings, and financial reports for accuracy.
  • Communicate and confirm information with the appropriate business leaders.
  • Research and resolve issues with aged, unbilled, and unapplied receivables.
  • Assist with audit requests.
  • Review vendor/supplier statements to ensure no past-due items exist and resolve any issues.
  • Identify unusual transactions to be resolved by a supervisor.
  • Cross train and work with team members as needed with daily workflow.
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a certificate in accounting related is preferred.
  • 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting procedures for accounts receivables, and accounts payable.
  • Tech-savvy to learn new computer applications and software quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

About Benner Nawman Inc.
Gus Benner and Rollie Nawman formed a partnership and founded the company in 1925 as a sheet metal fabricator in Oakland, California. It became a corporation in 1946. In 1950, the Pacific Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company of San Francisco, California asked Benner-Nawman to design and fabricate a phone booth made from aluminum, glass and steel. From 1950 to 1999, the company’s primary business was the fabrication and assembly of public telephone booths and accessories, selling hundreds of thousands of units in the United States and into over 40 countries worldwide. In 1976, BN created a distribution group for selling low voltage termination cabinets and hand tools to the electrical market. Benner-Nawman enjoys a partnership with several global companies helping them in the development of new products for the North American market.

Sales and Distribution
Currently, Benner-Nawman uses a network of construction product manufacturer representative companies plus our corporate team to promote our products across the United States, Canada, Central America and the Caribbean. Each representative company is located in the region they represent. Some of our professional manufacturer representatives also stock our products at their regional warehouse for faster delivery. Benner-Nawman’s corporate office and warehouse are located in a 65,000 square foot facility on seven acres of land in the Industrial Air Park of Wickenburg, Arizona. There is ample room within the facility for maintaining product inventory plus there are several acres of land for further development. National trucking companies, FEDEX, DHL and UPS deliver and accept shipments on a daily basis.
